Dragon Quest 7: Either I Need to Learn Japanese Quicker, Or The Fan Translation Starts Now

Squaresoft. The name was at one time synonymous with the late-90’s JRPG Revolution. In those days, almost every game that wasn’t a fighter or a cutesy platformer was a JRPG. This odd genre, which is filed with spikey haired protagonists, amnesiatics, and an abundance of fan art damn nearly impossible to find with safe search turned on, struck at the core of nerdom, placing strategy and statistical character growth in lieu of flashy gameplay. The genre also came to be defined by its strong focus on story, in an    age when the most popular games on the market were a plumber who jumped on turtles, and subsequent games where said plumber and his friends (as well as a few of his enemies) ride in Karts.

Games I’m Not Quite Sold on – Part 2

For this series, I will talk about games I am interested in, but have not pre-ordered.  These games are on this list because there are so many exciting games coming so soon and I can’t buy them all.  They are in no particular order.  I am waiting to see the reception of these games before I make my final purchasing decision.  Given that I am not buying these games, I do not know nearly as much about them, so this will mostly be my basic impressions with a little of additional research.
