Justin’s E3 Wishlist 2016

E3 is the time of year when major gaming companies such as Sony, Microsoft, EA, and Ubisoft, reveal their lineup of games and software on the way to the market in the coming future. From most anticipated games in development, to new IP’s and software, E3 is your one stop destination for the latest in video games. Without further ado, here are the top things that I am most excited for at this year’s E3 expo.

  1. Bethesda Press Conference

Last year was the first time Bethesda ever held a conference at E3, and they absolutely killed it! Revealing Fallout 4, Dishonored II and the now critically acclaimed Doom, Bethesda brought out the big guns and kicked off e3 2015 with a bang! That is why I am very excited that once again Bethesda was its very own conference. Not only will we be getting an in-depth look at their upcoming Dishonored II, but rumors of a remastered Skyrim, a sequel to Wolfenstein, and the long awaited Prey 2 also have me pumped to see what games Bethesda will bring to the table!

  1. Battlefield 1

DICE is taking us back to the dawn of all out war with their next major installment in the Battlefield franchise. Set during the infamous World War 1, Battlefield 1 will throw players into the trenches of France, the scorching desert of Saudi Arabia, and in the cockpit of ace pilots in what could be considered one of the deadliest conflicts in history. DICE’s trailer blew everyone’s minds when it showcased glimpses of trench warfare, melee combat, chemical warfare, sea battles, and aerial dogfights. With the trailer looking promising, I’m excited to see full gameplay of Battlefield one to ensure my ticket on the hype train was well spent.

DICE has confirmed that melee combat will be more prevalent in Battlefield 1, with tools such as shovels serving as makeshift weapons.

  1. The Last Guardian

Coming from the company that made the critically acclaimed Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, the highly anticipated The Last Guardian has been in development hell for nearly a decade, and is finally coming out this year. Not much is known about this title, expect that you play as a boy, guiding a colossus-like animal hybrid through a labyrinthine castle guarded by ethereal stone sentinels. While Team Ico will remain tight-lipped on any story details, it would be nice for them to show off some more of Trico’s behaviors, as well as the stealth elements of the game, in dealing with sneaking around the sentinels.

  1. Watch Dogs II

I was at first very hesitant about the rumors surrounding Watch Dogs II being in development. While the first game was an interesting, it had many flaws and in short, felt like a droll GTA clone. After seeing the reveal announcement trailers and gameplay, I can confidently say that Watch Dogs II learned from its predecessor’s mistakes and could be what finally makes the franchise a contender in the open-world genre. With hacking at the forefront of gameplay, an interestingly  character, and a more lively setting, I am extremely pumped to see what new mechanics and features are in the game.

Set in beautiful  San Francisco , Watch Dogs II looks to be more upbeat and lively than it’s predecessor.

While there are a lot of other things I am excited for, this list is the top four things that I am really looking forward to. I have followed these four games from the earliest rumors, and Bethesda never fails to disappoint with their games. Hopefully this year will prove to continue the momentum of the last years!
